PADI Open Water and Junior Open Water

Diver course, instructions and training

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular choice and upon successful completion you will receive a permanent PADI carnet from Pirate Cove, permitting you to dive just about anywhere in the world.

The full course takes 4-5 days and includes academic, confined water practices and open water diving.

If you are able to complete the academic and confined water portions and bring a referral form from your PADI instructor back home, you can complete the open water portion in only two days.

We offer the following options:

  • The Open Water course and the Junior Open Water course are conducted over 3 full days and include academic training, pool dives, and open water dives. The latter takes place at Caño Island - $460 (The course does not include the Open Water manual, which is an electronic book sent to the student's email and costs $90.00. You can purchase it in English or Spanish from us or from your local Padi store in your country.) It is very important to read the book before coming to do the dives with us.
  • If you have completed the academic part and the pool dives elsewhere and wish to finish the course with us, please bring the PADI Referral document in which your instructor will confirm that you have completed this part of the course. We will then do the four dives at Caño Island in two days - $370.
  • You can also do the academic part online by purchasing the e-learning from PADI. We will then conduct the pool dives and the four dives at Caño Island - $410. To purchase the e-learning, please click here.
